I guess it’s half timing, and the other half’s luck.

Recipie for a Perfect First Date
Another first date tonight. And since today is possibly the slowest workday ever (although I’m sure tomorrow will give it a run for its money), I have decided to pictorially describe how the date will ideally go. First, we meet here:
After a few moments of awkward smiles while we both realize how attractive the other is, we will make our way to…
For some…

Why I hate being single in...
nerdpower-:
Person: “So, who you gonna kiss under the mistletoe?”
Me: “Oh, actually, I’m single so…yeah.”
Person: “So, who you gonna kiss at midnight on new years?”
Me: “Yeah, I’m uh, still single so…”
Person: “So, who’s gonna be your Valentine?”
Me: ”I’M FUCKING SINGLE! GET IT INTO YOUR FUCKING HEAD! I’M GOING TO GROW OLD ALONE EXCEPT FOR MY PLETHORA OF CATS!”

This morning after I walked into work as I flipped through the paper, something exciting caught my eye: Something I wrote.

Letters
Tonight I received three letters in the mail. They are sitting on my desk. They are quite possibly the first and only thing I would grab if my apartment were to burst into flames. (Ok, them and Puppy - my stuffed dog I’ve had since I was 8).
In the world of email, gchat, text, DM’ing, skyping, etc., etc., it is a rare opportunity that you are forced to return to putting pen on paper....

In my senior year of high school some friends and I had the idea to replace a bunch of the motivational posters in our school’s hallways with de-motivational posters. It never happened (ironically, we lacked the motivation to actually do anything about it), but I still think it’s a dang good idea. Below are some of our favorites:

Thievery.
caryrandolph:
Steal his sweater. And then his gum. Steal his hand from his pocket when you’re walking down the street. Wayfarers off the dashboard and the last bite of dessert. (I hope you ordered the soufflé.) Borrow a spritz or two of his cologne. (Spray it on your pillow so you won’t ever forget him.) Lift his watch - not the best one but the other one - and sometimes refuse to relinquish the...

The Daily Pinch
Today I had an idea. And unlike the majority of my “ideas” today, this one was actually good one.
I am going to start a daily feature on this blog, called “The Daily Pinch.” It will be a daily reminder to myself, and I suppose to you too, of how incredibly amazing, wonderful, and mind-blowing my life is, in photographic format. Some days it might relate to NYC, other days...

This Is What Happens...
This is what happens when you get a job as an online editor:
1. You learn a bit about HTML code.
2. You decide after a few weeks that you know all there is to know about HTML code.
3. You realize you must use your HTML genius to completely redesign your tumblr blog from scratch.
4. You spend three hours attempting to redesign your tumblr blog from scratch.
5. You realize you really...
Sigh.
Five letters in as many days. Can’t decide if I’m in love or crazy. Or both. Probably both.
Miss you.

Where I Come From
A few days ago I started watching “Friday Night Lights” after hearing about how excellent it was from friends, tweeps, etc. They were right. But beyond it being an incredibly well-written, provoking and meaningful show, it has also reminded me of what my life was like before I moved to NYC. It may have been terribly dull at times, but it was simple- nothing much mattered except the...
